Merrell has collaborated with South Korean lifestyle brand Khakis on the MOAB 3 “Old Faithful,” a vintage-inspired hiking shoe set for release on April 18. The design features weathered textures mimicking a broken-in trail shoe. It will be available at select Khakis stores.
Merrell, known for its heritage outdoor footwear, has teamed up with Khakis, a South Korean brand founded in 2020 by the team behind thisisneverthat. The partnership introduces the MOAB 3 “Old Faithful,” blending American casual aesthetics with rugged hiking functionality. Khakis applies specialized wax processing and stone-washing to the upper, made of nubuck, poly-mesh, and rubber, creating an aged appearance of a well-worn trail shoe in sand tones accented by blue hits and speckled laces. The shoe maintains performance features beneath its distressed look, including an updated Super Rebound Compound midsole, a Merrell air cushion in the heel for stability, and a Vibram outsole for traction. It is scheduled for release on April 18 at Khakis locations, including the Seongsu and Yeonhui stores. Details such as colorway, SKU, and MSRP remain to be confirmed.
