Mexico City and Monterrey will host two round of 16 matches in the 2026 World Cup on June 29 and 30.
The first match will take place on June 29 in Monterrey between the Netherlands and Morocco. One day later, on June 30 at 19:00, the Mexican national team will face Ecuador at Estadio Ciudad de México.
Mexico arrives at this stage after leading Group A with nine points and conceding no goals, after defeating South Africa, South Korea and Czechia. The team aims to end a 40-year drought without a knockout-stage win.
Ecuador arrives motivated after advancing to this round. If Mexico advances, it could face England on July 5 at the same venue.
