Michelle Branch's new 'Game of Love' debuts on adult pop airplay

Michelle Branch's updated take on "The Game of Love" with New Radicals is set to enter Billboard's Adult Pop Airplay chart at No. 33.

The track, which features the original songwriters, arrives on the Aug. 8-dated ranking thanks to airplay from stations including KBIG Los Angeles, WBMX Boston and Music Choice. The chart update is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The new version introduces Branch's EP Everywhere and Back Again, due Nov. 6 on BMG. It marks her first collection on the label and includes fresh takes on her earlier hits.

Branch said in a July 15 statement, "'The Game of Love' has been such a special song in my life, made possible by one of my personal musical heroes, Gregg Alexander. Being able to sing this together with him is really a full circle moment and captures the original spirit of the demo."

The original Santana collaboration topped Adult Pop Airplay for 13 weeks in 2002-03 and reached No. 5 on the Hot 100. Branch will launch her Everywhere and Back Again Tour on Sept. 27.
