The match for the 38th and final round of the Brazilian Championship Série A took place on the night of Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, known as Maião, in Mirassol. It was Mirassol's first time in the top flight of Brazilian football, under coach Rafael Guanaes.
The game started intensely. At the 7th minute, Flamengo, with a mixed squad, took the lead: after Guilherme hit the post, Douglas Telles scored. Mirassol equalized at the 12th minute, with Felipe Jonatan heeling to Chico Kim for a volley into Dyogo Alves' top corner. At the 30th minute, Guilherme Gomes made it 2-1 for Flamengo with a powerful shot. Before halftime, at the 40th minute, Alesson leveled after a low cross from Chico Kim.
In the second half, Flamengo regained the lead: Wallace Yan laid off, Walter saved, but Guilherme Gomes finished for 3-2. Mirassol tied at the 19th minute of the second half, with Carlos Eduardo shooting, Dyogo Alves saving, and Cristian scoring on the rebound. No more goals followed.
In their Série A debut, Mirassol finished unbeaten at home, with 19 games (12 wins and 7 draws), scoring 42 goals and conceding 17. This was the first time they conceded three goals at Maião in the Brasileirão; previously, the maximum was two, against Atlético-MG (2-2, 6th round) and Vasco (3-2, 18th round). The point earned placed Mirassol fourth, ahead of Botafogo (61 points), while Flamengo topped with 79, matching Botafogo's 2024 title tally.
