Casting Details

Ncuti Gatwa, known for his role in Doctor Who, is the latest addition to the voice cast of Bad Fairies. He joins Cynthia Erivo, who was announced last month as the voice of Jayne Staplegun, described as a trailblazing fairy whose defiant streak sparks a rebellion. Details about Gatwa's character remain undisclosed.

Story and Production

Bad Fairies is an original musical comedy centered on a delightfully subversive gang of fairies as they disrupt their magical world. This marks the first feature film released under the first-look deal between Warner Bros. and Locksmith Animation. The project is in production in London, with DNEG Animation serving as the digital partner.

Creative Team

The screenplay is written by Deborah Frances-White. Megan Nicole Dong directs, with Olivier Staphylas as co-director. The songs are penned by Tony Award-winning duo Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, known for Six: The Musical. Isabella 'Machine' Summers of Florence + The Machine is composing and contributing to the score, while Ian Eisendrath serves as executive music producer.

Producer Carolyn Soper leads the effort, supported by editor Sim Evan-Jones, cinematographer James C.J. Williams, character designer Uwe Heidschötter, heads of story Rikke Asbjoern and Chris Garbutt, and production designers Justin Hutchinson-Chatburn and Mike Redman.

Gatwa is represented by Curtis Brown, UTA, Status PR UK, and Ziffren Brittenham LLP.
