New Balance is adding the 1906E to its 1906 line of retro runners. The model introduces a fully engineered mesh upper and is set to arrive in multiple colorways later this year.
The Boston-based company continues to expand its lifestyle offerings with the new variant. It replaces the layered mesh and synthetic leather construction of the existing 1906R with a single flush mesh upper that includes perforations on the forefoot and sides. Overlays on the 1906E appear as printed graphics instead of separate panels. The design draws comparison to an earlier no-sew version of the 1906R but uses a more refined mesh material. Multiple colorways are planned, including blue and maroon gradient options. The sneakers remain scheduled for release sometime in 2026.
