Bill Zonnon scored in his professional debut as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Springfield Thunderbirds 2-0 in Game 1 of the Atlantic Division finals on Tuesday evening.
Zonnon, selected 22nd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2025 NHL Draft, joined the team last week after recording 46 points in 35 games with Blainville-Boisbriand of the QMJHL. He broke the scoreless tie with a backhanded shot past Georgii Romanov at the 10:31 mark of the second period at Mohegan Arena.
