Ang unemployment rate sa Pilipinas ay tumaas sa 5.8% noong Enero 2026, na siyang pinakamataas mula noong Hunyo 2022, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority. Ito ay nagresulta sa 2.96 milyong mga walang trabahong Pilipino, na mas mataas kaysa sa 4.3% noong parehong buwan noong nakaraang taon. Ang sektor ng agrikultura ay nawalan ng 1.42 milyong trabaho dahil sa panahon na panahong aberya.

Noong Marso 13, 2026, nag-ulat ang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na ang unemployment rate sa Pilipinas ay umabot sa 5.8% noong Enero 2026, na mas mataas kaysa sa 4.3% noong Enero ng nakaraang taon. Ito ay katumbas ng 2.96 milyong mga walang trabahong indibidwal, kumpara sa 2.17 milyon noong parehong panahon.

Kasabay nito, ang underemployment ay tumaas sa 13.2%, na apektado ang 6.35 milyong Pilipino, mula sa 12% o 5.81 milyon noong Oktubre 2025. Habang ang mga sektor ng administration and support services (403,000), public administration (342,000), at manufacturing (326,000) ay nakakita ng pagtaas sa employment, ang agrikultura at forestry ay nawalan ng 1.42 milyong trabaho.

Ayon kay Deputy National Statistician Divina Grace del Prado, ang pagbaba ay dahil sa seasonality ng hiring, na karaniwang tumataas sa mga 'ber' months, ngunit maaaring dulot din ng weather disturbances sa agrikultura. "Our priority is clear: create more and better jobs at home, strengthen industries, equip our workers with the skills needed for higher-value employment, and ensure that those affected by global disruptions, including OFWs, can transition smoothly into productive opportunities here in the Philippines," aniya.
