Portland protesters stage nude die-in against Trump's deportations

Hundreds of naked protesters in Portland held a nude 'die-in' on Sunday to oppose President Donald Trump's mass deportation campaign and troop deployment plans. Participants from the World Naked Bike Ride paraded through the city before lying on the Burnside Bridge in a symbolic act of death. The event highlighted ongoing tensions between anti-ICE demonstrators and federal authorities.

On Sunday, October 13, 2025, hundreds of protesters participated in a nude 'die-in' in Portland, Oregon, aimed at stopping President Donald Trump's mass deportation efforts. Organized by the Emergency World Naked Bike Ride group, which typically rides naked in summer to promote climate awareness, this demonstration shifted focus to resist Trump's plan to deploy troops against anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agitators, according to the Associated Press.

The participants biked naked through the city before converging on the Burnside Bridge, where they dropped to the ground, pretending to be dead. Armed federal agents were observed on the roof of an ICE building overlooking the scene. One participant, Ashley, told Fox 12, “We’re here today because we strongly believe that we do not need federal troops in Portland or in Oregon at all.” Another, Saturn, described the event as “electric, so fun, it’s so Portland. Just keeping everything weird.”

The protest comes amid escalating violence in recent weeks, where anti-ICE protesters have lit fires, thrown rocks, and launched fireworks at federal agents. Last month, an illegal immigrant was arrested for allegedly pointing a laser at a Customs and Border Protection helicopter over Portland.

In response, Trump posted on Truth Social last month, directing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to provide troops to protect “War ravaged Portland” from “Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” authorizing “Full Force, if necessary.” Hegseth issued a memo federalizing 200 Oregon National Guard members. However, a federal judge temporarily ordered the troops to stand down, and Portland awaits an appeals court ruling on the federalization.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reacted on X, writing, “If you think this is crazy, congratulations, you’re a Republican!”
