President William Ruto attended the wedding of Ronnie Kiprono and Terry Mwendwa at Karen Blixen Museum on Saturday, April 12. The event gathered top political figures and business elites allied to the Kenya Kwanza government. Ruto gifted the couple a unique painting.
The wedding was one of Nairobi's most affluent events recently, with guests arriving in a convoy of luxury vehicles, including at least 30 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons.
Political heavyweights and wealthy businessmen mingled freely, turning the ceremony into what resembled a networking gathering.
Attendees included Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Oscar Sudi, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar, Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho, and Belgut MP Nelson Koech. Governors Cecily Mbarire of Embu, Anne Waiguru of Kirinyaga, and Susan Kihika of Nakuru were present, with Kihika accompanied by her partner Sam Mburu.
Senior officials featured Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen and his PS Raymone Omollo, alongside Education PS Julius Bitok. Business figures such as DL Langat, Sam Mburu, Mburu Junior, and Joho's brother attended, as did former radio presenter Shaffie Weru.
Speeches were limited, with President Ruto addressing the couple to wish them well and presenting a unique painting as a gesture of goodwill.
