Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sunny Deol are set to start shooting for the second part of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana in Mumbai. Kapoor has already begun his portions, while Deol is expected to join soon for key scenes. The film is slated for release in two parts, with the first arriving on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027.
Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of the epic Ramayana is progressing with preparations for its second installment. According to a report from Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Ram, has started filming his scenes in Mumbai. He plans to focus on this project over the next few months, targeting completion of a substantial portion between March and May.
Kapoor's schedule for the film Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has been adjusted due to the director's health concerns. Originally set for March, production on that movie is now expected to resume around May 2026, allowing Kapoor to prioritize Ramayana. Currently, he sports a clean-shaven appearance to maintain visual consistency with the character's depiction across both parts of the film.
Sunny Deol, cast as Lord Hanuman, is slated to join the shoot around March 20. The upcoming schedule will feature several combination scenes involving Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, which are central to the story's development. These sequences aim to build on the scale and narrative established in the first part.
The ensemble cast includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash in the role of Ravana. The production seeks to expand the mythological tale's portrayal, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the sequel following on Diwali 2027.
