The Texas Rangers beat the Kansas City Royals 4-2 on Thursday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium, moving back to a .500 record.
The win marked the Rangers' first time at .500 since May 1, when they stood at 16-16 after a victory in Detroit. Texas had dropped six straight games in attempts to reach that mark again.
Manager Skip Schumaker noted that the team was fully healthy for the first time in six weeks. He said the roster could now show its true form after adjustments during injury stretches.
A two-hour and 20-minute rain delay preceded the game, though no rain fell. Texas scored in each of the first three innings to support starter Kumar Rocker and secure back-to-back series wins against American League Central opponents.
