A new investigation has revealed that three bulk sellers accounted for 72 per cent of arena event tickets listed on StubHub UK in early June.
FanFair Alliance examined 50,272 tickets across venues including London’s O2, Manchester’s Co-op Live, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro and Birmingham’s Utilita Arena. Ticket Evolution supplied 40.9 per cent of the listings, Your Ticket Delivery 19.5 per cent and PCE 10.6 per cent.
The campaign group contacted StubHub about more than 20,000 listings from Ticket Evolution, which were subsequently removed. Campaign manager Adam Webb said the platform still hosts “masses of dubious-looking tickets from dubious-looking touts” and called for a full investigation into secondary ticketing.
StubHub International stated it maintains controls against speculative sales, labels professional sellers as traders and offers a 100 per cent guarantee on every order. The findings add to ongoing pressure on the UK government to tighten rules on ticket resale.
