The Rocket Classic has announced it will end its time as a PGA Tour event after the 2026 season. The tournament, which has run for eight years in Detroit, cited sponsor decisions and scheduling shifts as key factors.
Tournament director Mark Hollis stated that 2026 will mark the final Rocket Classic. He noted nearly 13 years as a PGA Tour title sponsor, including eight years in Detroit, and highlighted more than $10 million raised for local organizations. The event, formerly known as the Rocket Mortgage Classic, is scheduled to play one final time in late July 2026. Title sponsor Rocket Mortgage declined its option to continue hosting the tournament in 2027. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp is expected to address broader schedule changes in the coming weeks. These include a proposed two-track system with elevated events and larger purses for top players, which may affect additional longstanding tournaments.
