Facepunch Studios released update 26.05.13 for s&box to identify and discourage AI-generated content that has flooded the game's discovery tab since its Steam launch at the end of April. The changes lower the ranking of packages marked with AI thumbnails to prevent everything from looking the same. Moderators now have tools to flag such content directly.
The update follows criticism of the platform's mixed Steam reviews, where only 45 percent were positive. Many players cited the prevalence of generic AI-created thumbnails as a major issue. Garry Newman explained that the team wants to reduce how often these appear in lists and searches because they make all games look identical.
