The state directories of União Brasil and PP in São Paulo formalized support on Monday, July 20, 2026, for presidential pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL). The national alliance remains undefined.
During the conventions held in São Paulo, the PP formalized the candidacy of deputy Guilherme Derrite for the Senate, on a ticket with state deputy André do Prado (PL). The event was attended by Flávio Bolsonaro, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) and Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
Flávio Bolsonaro thanked the invitation from PP national president Ciro Nogueira and expressed hope for a future national alliance. “I hope that very soon we can also walk together at the national level,” he said.
Tarcísio de Freitas praised former President Jair Bolsonaro in his 12-minute speech, referring to Flávio as “our next president of the Republic.” Speeches at the event called for unity in the conservative field.
The PP national convention is scheduled for August 5, the last day of the deadline set by the Electoral Court. Until then, negotiations on national support continue.
