Serena Williams evacuates Berlin hotel with daughters after fire alarm

Serena Williams and her daughters were among those forced to leave their hotel in Berlin following a fire alarm during the Berlin Tennis Open.

The incident occurred in the middle of the night, with Rennae Stubbs, Williams' assistant coach, describing the disruption on her podcast. Stubbs noted it was the second time in two weeks the alarm had sounded, forcing the group to walk down eight floors.

"You’ve got Serena Williams on one side, Doja Cat on the other," Stubbs said. She added that Williams' two-year-old daughter Adira was woken and asked what was happening, while players and guests waited outside for 20 to 25 minutes.

Coco Gauff faced a similar evacuation earlier at the Waldorf Astoria hotel alongside Alexandra Eala and Eva Lys. Lys posted a photo from the 3 a.m. incident, which Gauff and Eala reposted. The German player indicated they remained outside until around 3:46 a.m.
