Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon final to claim his second title at the All England Club. In his post-match press conference the world number one urged Carlos Alcaraz to recover quickly from injury.
Sinner said tennis needs Alcaraz back on court soon. “We hope Carlos is coming back as well… because tennis needs him,” the Italian told reporters.
Alcaraz has been sidelined since withdrawing from Barcelona with a wrist injury. He missed both the French Open and Wimbledon and later pulled out of the Canadian Open while targeting a possible return at the US Open.
Sinner extended his winning streak to 30 matches and secured his fifth major title. He has now beaten Zverev ten times in a row, including the Wimbledon final.
