Slow Pulp will release their new album Melodie on September 18 through ANTI-. The band, originally from Madison, Wisconsin, and based in Chicago, has also shared the lead single “Better Man” ahead of a North American tour this fall.
The rock group’s first full-length project since the 2023 album Yard features 11 tracks. Singer Emily Massey described the single as a reflection on reclaiming personal control. “I realized that I had let go of the controls of my own life and instead was fully prioritizing what I thought people around me wanted from me,” Massey said in a statement. “This song is me both letting go of control but taking control of myself in a new way, and accepting myself for who I am, and hoping that can be accepted by everyone else.” The tour begins October 16 in St. Louis and includes stops in Denver, Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, among other cities. Several acts will open on select dates, including Feller, Her New Knife, Goon, and Graham Hunt.
