A sudden storm with strong winds hit Uppsala on Tuesday afternoon, causing fallen trees and damage to roofs.
Rescue services received about ten alarms about incidents in the area. Large branches broke off in Vasaparken and at Uppsala centralstation, where a car was also struck by a falling tree.
Länsstyrelsen Uppsala län reported on Facebook that wind gusts of 21-25 meters per second could occur, even though SMHI had not issued any warning. The winds then moved south toward Täby.
Ignace Toyobokimana, who was in a car outside the central station, described the event: "It came from nowhere, it was really scary. Everyone ran under the bus shelter in panic, and in five-six minutes it was over." No personal injuries have been reported.
