The Swiss Chamber in Egypt hosted its Annual Gala Dinner 2026 in Cairo under the theme “Two Nations, One Shared Impact – A Legacy Beyond Generations.” The event brought together officials, diplomats and business leaders to mark expanding economic ties.
Egypt's Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchok noted the rapid growth of relations and the role of Swiss firms in supply chains and jobs. Switzerland’s Ambassador to Egypt Andreas Baum pointed to the Joint Economic Commission and the Swiss–Egyptian Economic Forum as key steps in dialogue.
The gala honored former Finance Minister Youssef Boutros-Ghali with the SwissCham Egypt Distinguished Leadership Award. Chairperson Kamal Abdel Malek said the partnership supports development in healthcare, education and industry. Part of the proceeds will go to Al-Nas Hospital.
More than 500 Swiss companies operate in Egypt and employ over 25,000 people. Executives from ABB, Lafarge Egypt–Holcim, Novartis Egypt, Roche Egypt, HSBC Egypt and Geocycle Egypt attended.
