The Avalanches and Karen O release new single Blue Shadows

The Avalanches have released a new single featuring Karen O titled Blue Shadows. The track samples a 1983 Italo song and continues the group's active year of new music.

The Avalanches returned with Blue Shadows, their latest collaboration with Karen O. The song centers on the question Does anybody know how to mend a broken heart and draws from the 1983 track Shadows From Nowhere by Celso Valli under the name Blue Gas.

This marks another release in a productive period for the Australian group of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi, and Andy Szekeres. They issued Together in May after a six-year gap and followed with Every Single Weekend alongside Jamie xx last month.

Their previous album We Will Always Love You appeared in 2020. Karen O contributed a brief interlude called Dial D for Devotion to that record.
