Netflix has announced that season 3 of the thriller series The Night Agent will premiere on February 19, 2026, with all eight episodes available at once. The new season follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he tracks a rogue Treasury agent in Istanbul amid a dark money conspiracy. A teaser trailer has been released, highlighting intense action and new cast members.

Release Details

Season 3 of The Night Agent premieres Thursday, February 19, 2026, on Netflix, dropping all eight episodes simultaneously. This comes just over a year after season 2 debuted on January 23, 2025, following a delay from late 2024. The series, created by Shawn Ryan, continues its run as one of Netflix's top-viewed shows, having topped charts in 87 countries after its first season.

Plot Synopsis

In the new season, Gabriel Basso's Peter Sutherland investigates a young Treasury agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intelligence after killing his boss. Peter's probe into a dark money network puts him at odds with paid assassins and leads to a partnership with a relentless journalist. Together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that could destabilize the U.S. government and endanger their lives.

Cast and Crew

Basso reprises his role as Peter, joined by returning cast members including Fola Evans-Akingbola as secret service agent Chelsea Arrington, who has been upped to series regular, and Louis Herthum. Amanda Warren returns as Catherine Weaver, with Ward Horton and Albert Jones promoted to regulars as Governor Richard Hagan and Deputy Director Aiden Mosely, respectively.

New series regulars include Jennifer Morrison as the First Lady, Stephen Moyer as a top hitman, David Lyons as a former spy, Genesis Rodriguez as the journalist, and Callum Vinson. Suraj Sharma joins in a recurring role as the fugitive Treasury agent.

Luciane Buchanan will not return as Rose Larkin, a decision confirmed by the actress and creator Shawn Ryan. Buchanan explained to Deadline, “The writers decided that they wanted to follow Peter and his journey based on what happened at the end of Season 2. And so, we don’t get to see what happens to Rose.” Ryan noted the storyline's focus shifted, similar to Evans-Akingbola's brief absence in season 2.

Directors for season 3 include Guy Ferland, Adam Arkin, Paris Barclay, Hiromi Kamata, and Billy Gierhart. Executive producers feature Ryan, Marney Hochman, Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn, James Vanderbilt, and others from Sony Pictures Television.
