Truck driver sentenced for smuggling cocaine in skims shipment

A British court has sentenced a truck driver to 13 and a half years in prison after he was caught smuggling cocaine worth $9.4 million hidden inside a legitimate shipment of Skims clothing.

Jakub Jan Konkel, 40, was stopped by border officials at a port in Essex in September while driving a truck carrying 28 pallets of Skims underwear and clothing from the Netherlands. Authorities discovered 90 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a specially adapted compartment in the truck's back doors. The shipment itself was legitimate, and neither the exporter nor the importer had any connection to the drugs.
