Two people found seriously injured in Västerås

Two people were found seriously injured outdoors in Västerås on Monday evening. Police suspect a serious violent crime and have cordoned off the area for investigation. The injured were taken to hospital by ambulance after passersby alerted authorities just before 10 PM.

The incident occurred in the Södra Gryta residential area in northern Västerås. Police were alerted at 9:50 PM on Monday, November 3, 2025, when passersby discovered the two people outdoors in a mixed-development neighborhood including apartment buildings and townhouses.

“It was passersby who found these people and alerted us,” says Magnus Jansson Klarin, police spokesperson. The injured were immediately taken to hospital by ambulance, but police declined to comment on the nature of the injuries, the victims' gender, or age.

Police suspect a serious violent crime has been committed and have deployed extensive resources to the scene. An area has been cordoned off for technical examination, and several patrols are searching for suspects. Investigative measures include door-to-door inquiries, witness interviews, and the deployment of forensics technicians.

At midnight, police updated that the investigation is ongoing intensively in the area. No suspects have been arrested so far, and authorities are seeking public information to clarify what happened.
