Universidad Católica beat Universidad de Concepción 5-1 at Claro Arena, with three goals from Fernando Zampedri, closing the first round of the Liga de Primera.
The match started with a clear chance for Universidad de Concepción at the 9-minute mark, but Universidad Católica took control. Fernando Zampedri opened the scoring at 24 minutes after an assist from Jimmy Martínez.
Zampedri scored his second goal with a header at the 40-minute mark. Jeisson Fuentealba pulled one back from the penalty spot for the Campanil in the 45+4 minute, leaving the score 2-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Zampedri completed his hat-trick at the 60-minute mark. Cristián Cuevas made it 4-1 at 68 minutes and Justo Giani sealed the 5-1 win at 80 minutes. Universidad Católica has scored 35 goals in the tournament and Zampedri leads the scoring chart with 15.
