The landslide disaster in Desa Cibeunying, Majenang District, Cilacap Regency, Central Java, prompted intensive search and rescue (SAR) operations. On the third day, Saturday November 15, 2025, the joint SAR team discovered eight deceased victims. The first find was Muhammad Dadi (9 years old) at 10:06 WIB, followed by Nur Isnaini (30) at 10:44 WIB, and Hasmanto at 11:17 WIB, all at Worksite A-2, where five victims remain missing.
Operations continued into the afternoon, with discoveries of Febriansyah (5) at 13:39 WIB, Rizky Pratama (9) at 13:43 WIB, Dani Setiawan (29) at 13:45 WIB, Satini (28) at 14:22 WIB at Worksite A-3—which is now declared clear—and Rusyanto (60) at 14:21 WIB at Worksite A-1, where two victims are still being sought. Cilacap SAR Head Muhammad Abdullah stated that a total of eight victims were evacuated that day.
Overall, 11 bodies have been recovered: two on the first day, one on the second, and eight on the third. However, reports differ on missing persons; BNPB sources indicate 12 still being searched for, while SAR reports cite 10. Operations were temporarily halted at 16:00 WIB due to poor weather and will resume on Sunday November 16 at 06:00 WIB, focusing on Worksites A-1, A-2, B-1, and B-2.
BNPB Deputy Maj. Gen. TNI Budi Irawan inspected the site that morning and requested four additional excavators, totaling 12 units, given the 2-8 meter landslide debris. He emphasized that operations could run 24 hours with heavy equipment active continuously. Additionally, 19 tracker dogs of Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd breeds were deployed, including Buddy from Temanggung Police, who identified four potential points alongside Jack D. BNPB Data Center Head Abdul Muhari confirmed the update as of 18:00 WIB Saturday.
