The Washington University in St. Louis men's indoor track and field team, ranked No. 11 nationally, competed at the 2026 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships held in Waltham, Massachusetts. After the first day, the Bears held their ground and ultimately finished fourth in the team standings.
In the pole vault, senior Peter Lichtenberger claimed first place with a clearance of 5.07 meters, edging out graduate Tommaso Maiocco, who also cleared 5.07 meters but lost on tiebreakers for second. First-year Scott Cook scored one point for the team by placing eighth in the shot put with a throw of 13.79 meters.
Distance events saw solid contributions as well. First-year Max Sudrzynski took seventh in the mile with a time of 4:16.70, adding two points. In the 60-meter dash, Logan Fairchild tied for fourth at 7.05 seconds, securing 4.5 points. William Frohling won the 800 meters, while first-year Mateo Gros-Slovinsky placed eighth at 1:58.40 for one point.
The 200-meter race featured Fairchild in second place at 22.06 seconds, earning eight points, and junior Alex Gardner in fifth at 22.60 seconds for four points. In the 3000 meters, senior Conor Daly led the Bears in fifth with 8:30.33, followed by classmate Oliver Witt in sixth at 8:31.98 and sophomore Ben Lorenz in seventh at 8:32.31.
Relay and other events highlighted additional standouts, including Dayton Lasack winning the 400 meters and contributing to the victorious 4x400-meter relay alongside Frohling, Fairchild, and Brandon Brazil. James Corbett and Sudrzynski also aided in the distance medley relay efforts. These performances collectively propelled the Bears to their fourth-place finish.
