Celebrity stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald held their annual Pre-Met Gala Celebration on Sunday night at New York’s Boom Room. The event drew stars like Natasha Lyonne, Colman Domingo, and Danielle Brooks ahead of the Met Gala. Guests enjoyed cocktails, music, and skyline views.
Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, the celebrity styling duo, gathered friends and industry figures for their annual Pre-Met Gala party at The Standard's Boom Room in New York. The Sunday night bash featured flashing lights, club music, and custom cocktails like Luxury Margaritas and Siestas, presented with brands including Mind Games fragrance, The Only Agency, and Don Julio Tequila. DJ Honeycut played ‘80s and ‘90s R&B mixed with dance tracks, while staff served crispy French fries and crème fraiche. Hidden balconies offered city skyline views for a quick escape from the crowd. Guests arrived via the hotel’s iconic elevators, stepping onto a plush gold carpet in a gilded hallway. Colman Domingo, styled by the hosts in a black velvet overcoat, praised the duo: “This event is a big highlight of my weekend because I get to support two people that I truly love and admire. Their creativity with fashion speaks volumes, and tonight we celebrate them.” Chase Infiniti, attending her first Met Gala, added: “I love being able to celebrate my team. They always style me in the most perfect way, and tonight is a moment that they both deserve.” Natasha Lyonne said, “I’m having a blast,” while Evan Ross noted: “I’ve known Wayman and Micah for some time now, and it’s always a great moment whenever they invite me out.” Hairstylist Kellon Deryck called it “what the Met Gala weekend is all about,” looking forward to Monday’s main event. Brittany Edward of Christian Louboutin highlighted their attention to detail, and Ah-Niyah Gold described the vibe as “magical.” Hosts Bannerman and McDonald reflected on their seventh Met Gala together: “Each year has taught us something different about the craft and about our work,” Bannerman said. McDonald added: “We’re honored to be here with our friends and family tonight.”
