Norris secures pole in Mexico GP 2025 qualifying amid attendance record

Lando Norris of McLaren claimed pole position in the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix qualifying with a record lap of 1:15.586 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The event saw a historic Saturday attendance of 146,132, surpassing the previous record. Franco Colapinto finishes ninth and eighteenth in Mexican GP practices

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto delivered a positive performance in the opening practices for the Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix, finishing ninth in FP1 and outperforming his teammates. In FP2, he ended eighteenth but again ahead of Pierre Gasly, despite car issues. Colapinto expressed satisfaction with the day, calling it one of his best Fridays.
