Tatsuya Imai allowed six runs in four innings during his return to the majors on Tuesday night. Astros manager Joe Espada said afterward that the pitcher will take the mound again in his next scheduled start despite the poor outing.
Imai, who had been sidelined by arm fatigue since April 10, gave up six runs on five hits while issuing three walks and hitting two batters in the loss to the Mariners. The game ended with Seattle winning 10-2 at Daikin Park. His season totals now stand at a 9.24 ERA over 12 2/3 innings in four starts, accompanied by 14 walks and three hit batters.
