China military media mentions sixth-generation fighter for first time

An official People's Liberation Army account released a video over the weekend that included the first official reference to a sixth-generation fighter.

China Military Bugle, the official press account of the People’s Liberation Army, published a four-minute video on Sunday marking the 10th anniversary of the Y-20 heavy transport aircraft entering service.

In the video’s closing sequence the co-pilot asked who they were refuelling and the captain replied “First the ‘Master Six’, then the ‘Little Six’.” The camera then showed a fleeting blurry silhouette of a tailless plane.

The nickname “Little Six” had not appeared in official military media before and is widely seen as referring to a sixth-generation fighter. “Master Six” is an informal name used for the H-6 bomber.
