Dalarna gets its first double track outside Krylbo

Trafikverket is building Dalarna's first double track near Krylbo to increase capacity on the freight corridor through Bergslagen.

Construction of a five-kilometre embankment is under way between Dalslund and Krylbo. Work began at the turn of the year and is estimated to cost around 600 million kronor.

Trafikverket aims to complete the section by summer 2028. Director general Roberto Maiorana says the investment forms part of efforts to shift freight from road to rail.

The next stage from Dalslund to Hökmora still lacks funding. Maiorana states that Trafikverket will continue to seek expansion of double track along the entire corridor.
