Achmad Syahri Assidiqi, le plus jeune membre du conseil régional de Jember pour le mandat 2024-2029 et représentant du parti Gerindra, a été filmé en train d'utiliser son téléphone et de fumer dans une salle de réunion climatisée. La session portait sur la rougeole, le retard de croissance, les taux de mortalité maternelle et infantile, ainsi que sur le programme de couverture santé universelle. Les internautes ont largement critiqué ce comportement, le qualifiant de non professionnel. De nombreux commentaires sur les réseaux sociaux ont réclamé des sanctions strictes, y compris un renvoi immédiat et des appels à sa démission. Le parti Gerindra et le conseil d'honneur du conseil régional de Jember examineront cette violation présumée de l'éthique. Né le 21 juin 1999, Syahri a obtenu 12 102 voix lors des élections de 2024 dans la sixième circonscription électorale de Jember.
