Selon Le Caire, une voie diplomatique réussie entre Washington et Téhéran pourrait contribuer à réduire les tensions au Moyen-Orient et créer une opportunité pour une stabilité régionale accrue et la résolution des conflits. L'Égypte a exhorté toutes les parties à respecter le droit international et les principes de la Charte des Nations unies, à respecter la souveraineté des États, à éviter le recours à la force et à privilégier les solutions politiques et diplomatiques.
