Jaguars extend Travon Walker to four-year, $110 million deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a four-year, $110 million contract extension with edge rusher Travon Walker, including $77 million in total guarantees and $50 million fully guaranteed at signing. According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones, the team freed up cap space by allowing running back Travis Etienne and linebacker Devin Lloyd to enter free agency. Walker, the 2022 first overall pick, has amassed 27.5 sacks over four NFL seasons at age 25.

Walker began his career slowly, recording just 3.5 sacks in 2022. He improved markedly in the following two years, with 10.0 sacks in 2023 and 10.5 in 2024, totaling 20.5 sacks that ranked 12th in the NFL over that span. In 2025, however, he managed only 3.5 sacks in 14 games, including 12 starts. His career totals include 36 tackles for loss, sixth in Jaguars history, and 27.5 sacks, ninth in franchise records. At the University of Georgia, Walker had 9.5 sacks across three seasons from 2019 to 2021. The extension positions Walker alongside two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Joshua Hines-Allen as the foundation of Jacksonville's defense. This comes after the Jaguars selected Walker over Aidan Hutchinson, the No. 2 pick by the Detroit Lions, who has 43 career sacks since 2022 and recently signed a four-year, $180 million deal with $120 million guaranteed. In 2025, under first-year head coach Liam Coen, the Jaguars finished 13-4, won the AFC South title, and lost at home to the Buffalo Bills in the wild card round.
