Jay McKee named head coach of Hamilton Hammers

The New York Islanders have named Jay McKee head coach of the Hamilton Hammers, the team's new American Hockey League affiliate.

McKee, 48, spent the past five years as head coach of the Hamilton and Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season he led Brantford to the best record in the OHL with a mark of 48-10-8-2. In 2021-22 he guided Hamilton to a league championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup tournament.
