Lee approval rating stays below 50 percent for second week

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has fallen for six straight weeks to 46.5 percent, according to a Realmeter poll commissioned by EKN.

In the poll, Lee's approval rating dropped 0.2 percentage points from the previous week. His disapproval rating also fell 0.2 percentage points to 49.5 percent.

Realmeter cited the prolonged controversy over the National Election Commission's handling of ballots in the June 3 local elections, concerns about the economy and livelihoods, and disputes over abolishing the prosecution's supplementary investigation rights as reasons for the decline. The survey of 2,502 adults aged 18 and older was conducted from June 22 to 26, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

In a separate survey, support for the ruling Democratic Party of Korea rose 0.9 percentage points to 41 percent, while support for the main opposition People Power Party fell 0.3 percentage points to 42 percent. That poll surveyed 1,002 adults on June 25 and 26.
