Lionsgate, LuckyChap et Hasbro Entertainment collaborent avec deux équipes de scénaristes afin de développer des idées pour un film basé sur le jeu de société Monopoly.

Les entreprises ont fait appel à Neil Widener et Gavin James, connus pour A Minecraft Movie, ainsi qu'à Rebecca Angelo et Lauren Schuker Blum, les scénaristes de Dumb Money.

Les équipes vont étoffer les concepts du projet, selon des sources proches du dossier.
