A man in his 40s has been arrested in Nässjö on suspicion of attempting to murder a woman in an apartment. He is also suspected of attempted rape and unlawful confinement.
Police were alerted to the apartment shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday after a neighbor heard screams and crying. The man was arrested in connection with the alert.
The woman is reported to have not been seriously physically injured. The neighbor’s intervention may have been crucial in discovering the incident in time, according to information from P4 Jönköping.
It is unclear whether the man and the woman know each other or how the suspect responds to the accusations.
