Le président de Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, a déclaré que les conflits mondiaux actuels sont difficiles à résoudre car ils impliquent des nations influentes détenant un droit de veto aux Nations unies.

Haedar Nashir a prononcé ces remarques à Yogyakarta le mardi 19 mai 2026. Il a souligné que les guerres impliquant des grandes puissances aboutissent souvent à des impasses dans les efforts de paix.

Il a déclaré que les Nations unies devraient mener les efforts pour mettre fin aux conflits. Nashir a condamné Israël pour avoir détenu trois journalistes et militants indonésiens lors de la mission humanitaire Global Sumud Flotilla vers Gaza.

Il a souligné que Muhammadiyah rejette toutes les formes de violence et a exhorté l'ONU à agir concernant cet incident. Nashir a exprimé l'espoir qu'Israël évitera de prendre des mesures arbitraires à l'encontre des missions de paix.
