In the ongoing search for a 25-year-old woman missing since shortly after midnight on Boxing Day, police set up new cordons near Lake Uttran in Rönninge on Saturday evening. The operation, now over a day old, continues with full resources including volunteers from SAR Sweden.
The woman was reported missing after her phone last connected at 1:30 a.m. on Dec 26 at Rönninge commuter train station, with friends later finding her items in a nearby ditch. A major police operation began that afternoon with helicopters, dog patrols, and ground teams.
On Saturday, Dec 27, efforts expanded, culminating in a new 200x200-meter cordon near Lake Uttran starting around 7 p.m., secured by yellow cones and criminal technicians examining water edges, forests, and ditches. The cordon was lifted after 10:15 p.m. SAR Sweden contributed searchers, drones, and quad bikes, joined by local volunteers.
Police spokesperson Mats Eriksson said: "We have been working there for a while now and are conducting operations at many places in Rönninge." No suspects identified; efforts proceed undiminished. Carina Skagerlind added: "We continue the search with undiminished force." Prosecutors are involved, but details are limited; tips from public sought. No major findings reported; crime not ruled out.
Locals express concern: one resident noted, "It's scary." Linda, 35, said: "It affects you. As a woman, you should be able to go home at night and feel safe." The search persists intensively.
