Oliver Eklind signs with undisclosed foreign club

Swedish forward Oliver Eklind has confirmed a move abroad after completing a season with BIK Karlskoga. The 28-year-old will not name his new club yet but expects details to emerge soon.

Oliver Eklind, 28, has decided to leave Sweden for a foreign club. The former SHL player made the choice after recording 42 points in 59 matches for BIK Karlskoga in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

Eklind told Nerikes Allehanda that he signed the deal but declined to reveal the team. He added that more information should be released within about a week.

The forward had considered playing overseas already last year. When no suitable option appeared he joined Karlskoga, which he described as a strong alternative at the time.

Eklind previously played in the SHL for Örebro, Rögle BK and Färjestad BK. His time there included limited ice time after injuries and inconsistent opportunities.
