President Lee Jae-myung to meet U.S. House lawmakers' delegation

President Lee Jae-myung is scheduled to meet a delegation of U.S. House lawmakers on Tuesday amid the Middle East war and ongoing Seoul-Washington talks on South Korea's $350 billion investment plan in the U.S. under a bilateral trade deal.

This will mark President Lee Jae-myung's third meeting with U.S. lawmakers since taking office. In August 2025, he met Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ) in Seoul ahead of his first summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The following month, during a visit to New York for the U.N. General Assembly, he held talks with four lawmakers, including Rep. Young Kim (R-CA), expressing hope to prevent repeats of the detention of Korean workers after an immigration raid at a Georgia battery plant.

The latest meeting continues discussions on the $350 billion investment commitment.
