La star du tennis Qinwen Zheng a exprimé son intérêt pour le golf, que ce soit comme alternative ou après sa retraite sportive. La finaliste de l'Open d'Australie 2024 a fait ces commentaires après sa victoire au premier tour de l'Open d'Italie.

Zheng, qui a accumulé plus de 10 millions de dollars de gains en carrière, a été elle-même surprise par ses aptitudes naturelles sur un parcours de golf. Elle a noté des similitudes entre son revers au tennis et son swing au golf qui rendent cette transition attrayante. « J'ai été aussi surprise d'avoir de bonnes capacités. Peut-être devrais-je jouer au golf, pas au tennis ! Ou alors, après ma retraite, j'irai jouer au golf. Qui sait ? » a-t-elle déclaré à Tennis Channel.
