Qinwen Zheng hints at switching to golf after tennis career

Tennis star Qinwen Zheng has expressed interest in taking up golf, either as an alternative or after retiring from the sport. The 2024 Australian Open finalist made the comments following her first-round victory at the Italian Open.

Zheng, who has collected over $10 million in career prize money, surprised herself with her natural ability on the golf course. She noted similarities between her tennis backhand and a golf swing that make the transition appealing. “I was surprised as well that I’ve got good skills. Maybe I should play golf, not tennis! Or after I retire, I will go play golf. Who knows?” she told Tennis Channel.
