Sir Ringo Starr, l’ancien batteur des Beatles âgé de 85 ans, a annoncé son nouvel album de 10 titres *Long Long Road*, avec des collaborations avec Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Sarah Jarosz et Molly Tuttle. Produit par T Bone Burnett, cet album country et americana — qui fait suite à son n°1 des charts country britanniques en 2025 *Look Up* — sortira le 24 avril, le single principal « It’s Been Too Long » étant déjà disponible.
Sir Ringo Starr a annoncé son prochain album Long Long Road le 5 mars 2026. Le projet comprend six titres co-écrits avec le producteur T Bone Burnett, qui a également piloté la sortie précédente de Starr Look Up, son premier n°1 dans le classement country officiel du Royaume-Uni. Les musiciens de Look Up, y compris le groupe de base surnommé « the Texans » par Burnett : Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren et Colin Linden. Des apparitions en invités de Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings et St. Vincent. Starr a partagé son enthousiasme : « I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records. After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just sort of happened. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves... one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road. » Un temps fort est « I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore », une chanson inédite de Carl Perkins sélectionnée par Burnett — s’inspirant de Perkins, avec qui Starr a enregistré durant l’ère des Beatles. Burnett a salué Starr : « I’ve loved Ringo’s playing and his singing for my whole life... I wrote him a Gene Autry type song because I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist...
