Sir Ringo Starr, the 85-year-old former Beatles drummer, has announced his new 10-track album *Long Long Road*, featuring collaborations with Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Sarah Jarosz, and Molly Tuttle. Produced by T Bone Burnett, the country and Americana record—following his 2025 UK country chart-topper *Look Up*—is set for release on April 24, with lead single "It’s Been Too Long" out now.
Sir Ringo Starr announced his upcoming album Long Long Road on March 5, 2026. The project includes six tracks co-written with producer T Bone Burnett, who also helmed Starr's previous release Look Up, his first number one on the UK’s official country chart.
The lead single, "It’s Been Too Long" featuring Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle, was released earlier this week. Recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, the album adopts a country and Americana sound, featuring many of the same musicians from Look Up, including the core group dubbed “the Texans” by Burnett: Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren, and Colin Linden. Guest appearances come from Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, and St. Vincent.
Starr shared his enthusiasm: “I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records. After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just sort of happened. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves... one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road.”
A highlight is "I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore," a previously unheard Carl Perkins song selected by Burnett—drawing from Perkins, with whom Starr recorded during The Beatles era. Burnett praised Starr: “I’ve loved Ringo’s playing and his singing for my whole life... I wrote him a Gene Autry type song because I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist... Ringo Starr is a recording artist of the highest calibre, and I wanted to surround him with these young masters, bringing in some of this extraordinary young energy that’s happening around Nashville for both of these records.”
