Ruto offre 10 millions de shillings et des primes à Gor Mahia pour son titre en FKF Premier League

Le président William Ruto a offert samedi 10 millions de shillings à Gor Mahia FC et 100 000 shillings à chaque joueur lors d'une cérémonie organisée au State House à Nairobi. Le club vient de remporter son 22e titre de champion de la FKF Premier League.

L'annonce a été faite lors d'une cérémonie de remise du trophée à laquelle ont assisté des dirigeants du club, des joueurs et des personnalités invitées. Le président Ruto a déclaré qu'il remettrait 100 000 shillings à chaque joueur avant le déjeuner et qu'il verserait 10 millions de shillings sur les comptes du club. Le secrétaire d'État au Trésor, John Mbadi, a ajouté 3,2 millions de shillings. L'ancien secrétaire d'État, Eliud Owalo, a contribué à hauteur d'un million de shillings et la gouverneure de Homa Bay, Gladys Wanga, a également fait un don. Le club a plaidé pour la rénovation du stade national Nyayo. Le secrétaire d'État aux Sports, Salim Mvurya, a affirmé que l'installation du toit serait terminée d'ici mars 2027. Le président Ruto a précisé que son administration prévoyait d'achever 28 stades à travers le pays d'ici la fin de l'année prochaine.
