Des habitantes comme Silvia Gómez et María Ruiz ont souligné la fierté de la tradition familiale. Mme Gómez portait une robe confectionnée par sa grand-mère et a déclaré que "l'engouement pour la tenue de chulapa n'est pas quelque chose d'éphémère".

Ayuso est arrivée en blanc à l'événement municipal où Almeida a remis des prix et a défendu la concorde : "Madrid n'a jamais répondu en érigeant des murs".
